Tab Benoit

Tab Benoit is a 4x Grammy nominated singer, songwriter and guitarist who has built a remarkable 30+ year career on the foundation of his gritty and soulful Delta swamp blues, acquiring a devoted legion of fans along the way, as well as 5 Blues Music Awards, including BB King Entertainer of the Year (twice) and an induction into The Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. 

After a 13-year hiatus, Tab is back with his latest effort, I Hear Thunder, on his own label, Whiskey Bayou Records. The new album was his first #1 in the Billboard charts in over 30 years. Read more about it in Billboard here.. Benoit's 2013 release, Medicine, was co-produced with Anders Osborne for Concord International, and garnered three Blues Music Awards. Following this notable success, Benoit took a step away from music, taking a 13-year sabbatical from recording and entering a period of creative exile. 

Tab's accomplishments as a musician are matched only by his devotion to the environmental health of his native Louisiana wetlands. The notoriety achieved by his success provided him with a mouthpiece to promote his growing concern for the Louisiana Wetlands and coastal erosion from the region he calls home. Benoit is the founder and driving force behind Voice of the Wetlands, an organization working to preserve the coastal waters of his home state. In 2010, he received the Governor's Award for Conservationist of the Year from the Louisiana Wildlife Federation. Benoit has also starred in the iMax motion picture Hurricane on the Bayou, a documentary of Hurricane Katrina's effects and a call to protect and restore the Wetlands.

Texas Headhunters is a hard-hitting new supergroup uniting three of the most dangerous guitar slingers to ever come out of the Lone Star State: Ian Moore, Jesse Dayton, and Johnny Moeller. They channel the grit and groove of early ZZ Top, the soul of vintage Austin blues clubs, and the raw edge of an underground garage show. It’s Texas blues-rock with back-alley swagger-loud, loose, and loaded with soul. The songs swing from deep-pocket boogie to roadhouse rave-ups, always anchored in feel, fire, and that unfiltered Austin cool.

Jesse Dayton has recorded with Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, and Rob Zombie, subbed for Billy Zoom in punk legends X, and earned a Grammy nomination with Samantha Fish for Death Wish Blues. 

Johnny Moeller, longtime guitarist for the Fabulous Thunderbirds, is the band’s not-so-secret weapon—cool, crafty, and sly as hell onstage. 

Ian Moore, a revered Austin figure and CliPord Antone protégé, toured with the Rolling Stones and Bob Dylan, pairing searing guitar work with a deeply soulful voice.

Since his arrival as a solo artist in 1993 and his self-titled debut on Capricorn Records, Texas Music star Ian Moore’s journey has been one of perpetual forward motion and constant change. The record included the hits, “Satisfied” and “Blue Sky”, and even featured the track, “Harlem”, which was made in to a music video by rap icon, Ice Cube.
Moore’s upcoming “Strange Days” EP was birthed from Ian channeling all the influences from his childhood,soul music and the blues, while carrying forward all the hard-earned life lessons acquired on his journey that allow him to infuse these songs with a depth that only comes from years and miles. Moore’s ability to straddle genres like a Neil Young or a Jack White is obvious.
By paying tribute to such luminaries as Curtis Mayfield, Otis Redding, Aaron Neville (even covering “Hercules”), and Sly Stone, Ian Moore can offer music politically charged at times, as well as the heartfelt love song filled with emotion and purpose.
